This much-anticipated event will shine a spotlight on remarkable individuals and organizations whose leadership and charitable efforts have made a significant impact across the Caribbean, the United States, and beyond.
Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Global Business Leadership and Philanthropy
Leading the pack this year is none other than William Mahfood, the Chairman of the WISYNCO Group. He will be honored with the prestigious Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Global Business Leadership and Philanthropy. Mahfood’s journey is nothing short of inspiring; starting as a warehouse supervisor, he climbed the corporate ladder through sheer determination and innovation. His focus on enhancing distribution channels has been pivotal in establishing WISYNCO as a powerhouse in the Jamaican market, boasting the largest listing on the Jamaica Stock Exchange. “It’s about creating opportunities for others,” Mahfood once said, reflecting his commitment to both business and community.

Althea Brown, the Managing Director and Chief Legal Officer of LPL Financial, will receive the Vice Chancellor’s Achievement Award. A proud daughter of Jamaica, Brown has made waves in the financial sector, providing invaluable legal and advisory services. Salute to Caribbean Gold Award
This year’s gala will also honor Olympic gold medalist Thea LaFond Gadson, who will receive the Salute to Caribbean Gold Award. Her historic win in the women’s triple jump at the 2024 Paris Olympics marked a monumental achievement for Dominica, inspiring countless young athletes across the Caribbean. “Winning that gold was not just for me; it was for my country and the entire Caribbean,” Gadson expressed, highlighting the pride her victory has instilled in her homeland.
Pinnacle Award for Excellence in Global Hospitality Services
Completing this esteemed lineup is the management and staff of the Half Moon Hotel in Montego Bay, who will receive the Pinnacle Award for Excellence in Global Hospitality Services.
