Celebrities have weighed in on the 2024 presidential race in a variety of ways in recent weeks, with some of the biggest names in politics and Hollywood backing a particular candidate in hopes of moving the needle this November.

Pop star Chappell Roan recently stirred the pot with a TikTok video where she initially stated she would not endorse any presidential candidate. However, she followed up with a second video expressing her strong criticism of the Democratic party while declaring, "Yeah, I’m voting for f***ing Kamala," albeit mispronouncing the vice president’s first name.
In a more formal endorsement, actress Jennifer Lawrence shared her support for Kamala Harris in an interview with People Magazine, emphasizing that “abortion is literally on the ballot” and expressing her belief that Harris “will do whatever she can to protect reproductive rights.”
Actress Fran Drescher also joined the fray, posting an animated TikTok video set to the theme song of her iconic show “The Nanny.” The video featured lyrics praising Harris, stating, “She’s got brains, she’s got balls and Tim Walz/She’ll soon be President Harris.”
Famous television scientist Bill Nye took to the Kamala HQ TikTok account to label Trump a “climate change denier” and urged viewers to “vote with the climate in mind.” Nye is scheduled to appear at a “Geeks & Nerds for Harris” fundraiser on September 28, alongside notable figures like “Wonder Woman” star Lynda Carter and “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill.
On the other side of the aisle, Joe Germanotta, the father of pop star Lady Gaga, endorsed Donald Trump, calling him “a patriot” during an appearance on Fox News. Lady Gaga herself has not yet publicly endorsed a candidate but previously congratulated Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on their 2020 win.
Pop sensation Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas made headlines when they released a video on National Voter Registration Day, stating they would vote for Harris and Walz “because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet, and our democracy.”
At a rally in Las Vegas, Trump mistakenly referred to reggaeton star Nicky Jam as a woman before correcting himself, thanking Jam for his endorsement.
What Other Celebrities Have Endorsed Harris?
A plethora of Hollywood heavyweights have rallied behind Kamala Harris, especially after Joe Biden’s exit from the race. Olivia Rodrigo endorsed Harris by sharing a video of her speech promising to “stop Donald Trump’s extreme abortion bans.” Major Democratic fundraiser George Clooney and Barbra Streisand have also voiced their support, with Streisand highlighting Harris’s commitment to reproductive rights.
Musician John Legend expressed his enthusiasm for a Harris presidency, while director Spike Lee and “West Wing” creator Aaron Sorkin have also thrown their support behind her. Actresses Jamie Lee Curtis and Rosie O’Donnell have joined the chorus, with Robert De Niro emphasizing the importance of defeating Trump without directly mentioning Harris.
Charli XCX brought a youthful flair to Harris’s campaign, tweeting “kamala IS brat,” which led to Harris’s team updating her social media to reflect the endorsement. Cardi B, who previously withheld her endorsement, tweeted her excitement for Harris, while Kesha publicly declared her support.
Beyoncé has not made a formal endorsement but allowed her song "Freedom" to be used in a Harris campaign video, a significant gesture from the superstar. Former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, along with Hillary Clinton, have also endorsed Harris, with Jimmy Carter reportedly eager to vote for her.
What Other Celebrities Have Backed Trump?
On the Republican side, former pro wrestler Hulk Hogan made headlines at the Republican National Convention by revealing a Trump-Vance campaign shirt and calling Trump his "hero." Kid Rock has been vocal in his support for Trump, even revamping his song "American Bad Ass" to include references to the former president.
UFC President Dana White praised Trump as the "toughest, most resilient human being," while Amber Rose delivered a speech at the RNC in support of him. Country music stars Chris Janson and Jason Aldean also made appearances at the convention, showcasing a blend of entertainment and political support.
Public figures like Elon Musk and Steve Wynn have also expressed their backing for Trump. Actress Rosanne Barr has been a long-time supporter, defending Trump against criticism. Rapper Azealia Banks has also shown her support, attending a Trump rally in Florida.
Who Has Not Endorsed Trump Or Harris?
Notably absent from the list of endorsements are prominent figures like billionaire Michael Bloomberg, who stated that the decision is "too important to rush." This highlights a divide among influential personalities as the election approaches.
