HTCC Calls for Urgent Action After Tragic Death of Kelsey Ferrigon

The voluntary organization Hear The Children’s Cry (HTCC) is stepping forward, condemning this horrific act and calling for immediate action to protect Jamaica’s children.

HTCC Director Nigel Cooper, a passionate educator, expressed his deep sorrow for Kelsey’s family. “These atrocities have taken on unimaginable decadence,” he stated. “Unless effective action is taken by the relevant authorities, this could continue to be a serious attack on Jamaica’s children.” His words resonate with many who feel that the safety of children is under siege.

Duhaney pointed out that horrific crimes—ranging from sexual abuse to murder—are occurring with alarming frequency.
She believes that the collective response from society has been inadequate. “We’ve failed to protect our children with the passion and urgency required,” Duhaney said, urging everyone—government, parents, teachers, and churches—to unite against violence toward children. “We must utilize our resources and speak out loudly against these injustices that affect our children’s peace and safety.”

Duhaney highlighted the systemic failures that leave children vulnerable. “The system is failing our children miserably, and we can no longer be a fly on the wall,” she asserted.
