At the recent Kansas City Chiefs vs New Orleans Saints game on October 7, Taylor Swift broke the internet by wearing glitter freckles, sparkling a brand new beauty trend that has us all buzzing.
At the game, Swift gave the fake freckles trend a revamp as she ditched regular freckling pens for glitter patches. She paired the ‘Bejewelled’ look with her signature red lip, dressed head-to-toe in Vivienne Westwood. The starlet looked absolutely gorgeous as she cheered on her boyfriend, the Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce.
How did Taylor Swift create the glitter freckles look?
According to a Taylor Swift fan page @TaylorSwiftStyled run by Sarah Chapelle, Swift created the look using USD 16 glitter freckles from Fazit. The beauty brand is a female-founded small business created by Nina LaBruna and Aliett Buttelman. Buttelman, who is a profound Swiftie, recently went viral after posting a TikTok video about the artist wearing glitter patches.
Following Swift’s NFL outing with Fazit’s glitter freckle patches, the small business saw an incredible surge in sales, courtesy of Swifties scrambling to get their hands on the exact item worn by their idol. According to Buttelman, sales of Fazit’s glitter freckles skyrocketed 2,500 percent in only 13 hours. The popularity of the product has turned Fazit’s Makeup Patches into an Amazon No.1 bestseller in the body glitter category. And the numbers are still steadily rising.
While there are seven different styles and colours to choose from, the songwriter reportedly wore the red spirit variation. The resultant look was quite adorable, especially for something festive or a celebration.
How can you recreate the look?
Fazit’s glitter patches are both easy to apply and remove. According to the brand, it’s similar to putting on a temporary tattoo. You have to peel the backing off the glitter freckles and apply the sticky side to your face. You can also apply a little pressure with a damp towel to set it in place. These freckles are easily wiped away with makeup remover when you’re ready to say goodbye. And luckily, for all the international Swifties wanting to get in on the fun trend, Fazit does indeed ship internationally.
